It's not far from Ahlbeck to the Polish border
Where the border once separated the two countries just a few years ago, a gate shaped like a bracket now symbolizes the growing unity between the two nations.
Ein Stück Usedom für zu Hause

Ahlbeck welcomes you with a bright white sandy beach and stylish seaside villas from the Gründerzeit era. The venerable Ahlbeck pier hovers over the waves of the Baltic Sea like a crown. Ahlbeck isn’t just elegant—it’s also a place where families feel right at home.
Much like Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck transformed from an unassuming fishing village into a fashionable seaside resort starting in the mid-19th century. Charming seaside villas with ornate gables and elegant columns continue to define the resort to this day. Rent a charming wooden villa or check into a magnificent hotel from the Imperial era. The historic Ahlbecker Hof has even hosted royalty in the past.

It is probably the most photographed landmark on the island of Usedom. Locals affectionately call it the “Old Lady.” It is not only the symbol of Ahlbeck, but of the entire island. The Ahlbeck pier was built in 1898 and is considered the oldest surviving pier in Germany. Even Vicco von Bülow, alias Loriot, was fascinated by this charming lady. He chose it as the setting for the final scene of his film “Pappa ante portas.”
