Dog-Friendly Beaches

Your Day at the Beach with Your Furry Friends
Does your four-legged friend never leave your side, even on vacation? Then Usedom is the perfect place for you. All the seaside resorts between Peenemünde and the Polish border have sections of beach where your furry friends can run around to their heart’s content.
What do you need to keep in mind as a dog owner?
During the summer months, dogs are allowed only on designated beach sections. There, Fido and Fifi can look forward to lots of fun encounters with other dogs and interesting sniffing adventures. During the off-season, from early October through late April, you’re allowed to take your four-legged friend to all other beaches. As a general rule, you should always keep your dog on a leash at all beaches, even during the off-season.

Where's the dog beach?
The dog beaches are clearly marked in each seaside resort. At the beach entrances, you’ll find fresh water and dispensers with plastic bags so you can clean up after your four-legged friend. You’ll also see blue signs at the beach entrances with additional rules of conduct. On hot days, remember to treat yourself and your four-legged friend to a shady spot every now and then.
The Right Beach for Every Taste
The amenities at the dog beaches are considered excellent! They include beach chair rentals, snack options for dog owners, and dog food. The most rustic and longest unofficial dog beach can be found between Karlshagen and Peenemünde, about three minutes from the Kienheide parking lot. Explore the swimming spots in the Achterland if you prefer unspoiled, secluded areas.
