Amber Is Our Element
Can you imagine a more unique vacation souvenir than amber? Go hunting for it yourself on Zempin Beach, or let an amber fisherman show you where to find it.
Ein Stück Usedom für zu Hause

Would you like to slow down a bit? The pleasant tranquility of the former fishing village of Zempin instantly eases the stress of everyday life. At the narrowest point of the island of Usedom, between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser, life is still quite peaceful.
Quite literally: Usedom’s smallest seaside resort is located in the middle of the 42-kilometer-long outer coast. Here, you can let your gaze wander—over the picturesque landscapes and the idyllic harbor on the Achterwasser—until you lose yourself in the vastness of the horizon. Or you can explore the history of this former fishing village at the local history museum, “Uns olle Schaul.”

In the summer, the Music Pavilion on the Kurplatz is the cultural heart of the town. There’s always something going on there. Lively music blends with the sound of the sea. Marvel at cheerful children’s theater with your little ones, enjoy iconic concerts, or join in the festivities at the Fishermen’s Festival.

Light-colored powdery sand, wild dunes, and cliffs: Zempin Beach could easily grace the cover of any photo book on the Baltic Sea. The stunning natural setting is perfect for both athletic activities and relaxing days at the beach—whether you’re wearing a swimsuit or not, in a beach chair or on a picnic blanket. Your four-legged friends are warmly welcome on two sections of the beach: right at beach access point 7B or on the natural beach toward Zinnowitz.
Need a break from the beach? The Kurplatz is a sure bet. There’s always something to do here. To explore the town best, follow the stops along the local history and nature trail and discover Zempin’s landmarks. Or dive deep into the town’s history at the “Uns olle Schaul” local history museum.
Hop on a bike and explore the island. Thanks to its central location, Zempin is the ideal starting point for bike tours. You can rent bikes and e-bikes right in town or have them delivered by a bike rental service. You can also join guided tours. For more information, visit the Zempin Tourist Office.
On this nature trail , lovingly designed by local painters, writers, and photographers, you’ll find everything related to nature, history, and stories all around. Three hiking trails lead past notable landmarks in the seaside resort.
A packed calendar of events awaits you. Laugh, dance, and celebrate together with the people of Zempin. It’s best to come with an empty stomach for the Zempin Fishermen’s Festival and the traditional summer festival. And for the iconic Schlager nights, it’s best to come with dancing legs ready to go. Fun for everyone is guaranteed here.

It doesn’t get any fresher than this! Watch the fishermen at work early in the morning on Zempin Beach. Just a few hours later, you’ll see the fresh fish in the smokehouses. Grab a fragrant fish sandwich or enjoy fish caught that very morning at one of the authentic seafood restaurants.
