The Usedom Island Mill is a natural products workshop in the town of Usedom. For 160 years, grain was ground in this historic mill. Today, the old building houses a state-of-the-art oil press, a bistro, and a shop. Here you’ll find the island’s “liquid gold”: high-quality cold-pressed cooking oil. You’ll also find fruit and vegetable juices, delicious honey, and fruit spreads—all freshly harvested and processed from our own fields and plantations.
Enjoy Local Cuisine on Usedom

Good things are so close at hand!
When you go shopping, do you prefer to buy locally sourced food? Would you like to support local producers, avoid long transport distances, and promote organic farming? Then why not stop by Usedom’s farm-to-table and organic stores!
Usedom's Regional Delicacies
The sunny island of Usedom is rich in regional specialties. Here you’ll find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to fruit juices and cold-pressed oils, spirits, vegetarian spreads, and jams, as well as game from Usedom’s forests, island cheeses, dried culinary and medicinal herbs, and products made from sheep’s wool. More and more cafés and restaurants are also serving up delicacies made with locally sourced ingredients.

Delicacies from Usedom's farm-to-table and organic stores
On the Gnitz Peninsula, the owners of Villa Kunterbunt have been practicing organic animal farming since 2003. In the farm store, you can see the quality of the meat products for yourself, but you can also shop from partner farms: seasonal fruits and vegetables, homemade jams and spreads, and soap made from sheep’s milk and sheep’s wool.
You can find fresh, high-quality game products and exceptional forest goods at the forest shop at the Neu Pudagla Forest Office—from Usedom venison pâté to “Förster’s Heide-Gin” from the Rostock Heath. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack, a leisurely lunch, a good cup of coffee, or a specific purchase—all products have one thing in common: they come from local forests and certified organic suppliers.
It smells so good! The Kräuter-Verbena farm stand is your go-to source for dried culinary and medicinal herbs, pestos, spices, spice blends, herb salts, and incense from the island of Usedom. The herb garden features around 100 different culinary, medicinal, and aromatic herbs, which you can purchase as plants from May through October. Since the farm shop doesn’t have set opening hours, you should schedule an individual appointment.
Strolling Through the Weekly Market
It's just fun to stroll through the market with historic buildings in the background. At the stand, you can buy seasonal fruits and vegetables, fish and meat products, game, dairy products made from cow’s, sheep’s, and goat’s milk, fresh baked goods, honey, jams, juices, and wines, locally grown tea, and gourmet products directly from the producers.
- Weekly Market in Trassenheide, Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Trassenheide Festival Grounds
- Weekly Market in Wolgast, Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Wolgast Town Hall Square
A snack made in Usedom
Take the fragrant wood-fired bread from Langhoff’s traditional bakery in Stolpe. Top it to your heart’s content with robust cheese from the Inselkäserei in Welzin and delicate venison salami from the Usedomer Wild butcher shop in Neeberg. Pair it with a crisp Pilsner from the Heringsdorf Island Brewery, and your Usedom-style snack is ready! For a spectacular finish, we recommend gin, rum, or whiskey from the Usedom Distillery in Mölschow.
Seasonal, regional, close to nature
The restaurant scene on the sunny island of Usedom is also increasingly returning to its traditional values. Seasonal and regional ingredients are highly prized. The combination of regional cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere amidst the island’s beautiful natural surroundings is particularly appealing. You’ll find both, for example, at the garden restaurant Zur Pferdetränke (which features a playground and a petting zoo) or at the Naturhafen, located directly on the Achterwasser in Krummin.
