Traveling to Usedom: Finally Arriving
You may prefer to take your own car on your trip. But it’s worth considering the alternatives as well. Take the train or a long-distance bus: Compared to a car, these modes of transportation produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions per passenger-kilometer and allow you to enjoy a relaxing journey. On the island itself, rental companies and hotels often offer a free shuttle from the train station to your lodging. Or you can take on the challenge of cycling to the island under your own power along one of the long-distance bike trails.
Sustainable Transportation on the Sunny Island
Once you arrive on Usedom, there are many eco-friendly ways to explore the island. You can rent bicycles and e-bikes literally on every corner. If you’re traveling in an electric vehicle, you’ll find 25 charging stations located throughout the island. The island is also attractive for travelers using public transportation: The Bäderbahn line and the Inselentdecker bus routes connect the seaside resorts and the towns in the hinterland.
